I have used AussieMite for the past couple of years commencing when Vegemite was in foreign hands. While it is pleasing to see that Vegemite has now been reclaimed by the Australian company, Bega Cheese, I am now more than happy with AussieMite and will continue to use it. Not simply for the taste, but I find it is much more ‘spreadable’ and, in contrast to other comments here, not as intense in the taste. Unfortunately the big two supermarkets, Coles and Woolies, have unfairly removed AussieMite from their shelves to make room for even more varieties of Vegemite. I love supporting Australian products, Australian businesses and true competition, however for these two giants of the grocery industry to effectively slap down a small cottage type business who are simply having a go is disappointing. If you like supporting the little guy, give AussieMite a go.
Love this spread. I love Vegemite and Promite and it could pass as a combination of these two spreads. I don’t think they are trying to copy Vegemite, just trying to provide Aussies with a GF alternative that is GMO free and also it doesn’t have preservative 220 which is common allergen and especially bad for people with asthma. Worth the try if you are careful with chemicals preservatives etc.
As a Coeliac, I have struggled to find a Gluten free Vegemite substitute….my search is over! I\’m an Aussiemite fan for life…..probably wouldn\’t go back to Vegemite even if I could!
Thank you for a great product that fills the void for Australian Coeliacs.????
Love the fact that this product has no GMO ingredients unlike vegemite (now owned by huge GMO and pesticide conglomerate corporation, Monsanto). Also 100% Australian. I’ve always been a fan of the taste of vegemite but Aussiemite now tastes exactly the same. Love it!
I love Vegemite and nothing comes close for me. Not Promite, not Marmite and definitely not Little Aussie Mite. You can’t beat an Aussie icon so please stop trying
I found this product very overpowering. Think vegemite but stronger. Even the smell is a bit pungent. My daughter always gives me the face whenever I open it.
I bought this product as it looked a little fancy and I like to support Australian products – I had it in my head that it would taste the same as vegemite however the flavour and smell are too intense for me. Unfortunately not for me and won’t be buying it again.
