  • Chocolate Cake

    5 out of 5

Coles chocolate cake is a terrific tasting cake. I love this chocolate cake because it is so easy to decorate and so much cheaper than some other alternatives.

  • It’s ok

    2.5 out of 5

Tried this the cake it is very moist, the icing tastes the best out of the cake, probably wouldn’t buy this again, and the kids didn’t eat it

  • Nice cake

    4 out of 5

Brought this coles chocolate cake for the first time recently as our usual was out of stock and to my surprise it was nice and moist cake better than I thought.

  • Disappointed.

    1.5 out of 5

There’s a taste to this that I can’t put my finger on, but it isn’t a nice taste. This was too chocolatey and not chocolatey enough at the same time.

  • Very rich

A dark, moist cake. Tastes a bit artificial- the icing is quite delicious though! There are, however, a LOT of ingredients in the cake.

  • Convenient!

    2.5 out of 5

Coles rich chocolate cake is a convenient cake to buy at the supermarket that tastes okay but nothing compared to the cakes l buy from a cake shop.

  • Cult classic

    2.5 out of 5

It’s a cult classic and favourite but the taste is pretty average. I’ll eat it if there’s nothing else to eat but that’s on rare occasions

  • Cake hack

    3 out of 5

A nice cake to complete a cake hack on and decorate yourself. A bit expensive so I tend to not purchase this on all the time unless I see it on mark downs.

  • Same as a mud cake

    1.5 out of 5

To be honest I don’t see the difference from this and the classic woolies/coles mud cake except the bigger price tag. I grabbed this on markdown and heated a touch in the microwave to make it moist again. Was tasty still tasty wouldn’t pay full price

  • moist

    4 out of 5

These have on numerous occasions been lovely and dense and moist. It is rich enough in flavour and also make a great base to then add more icing and decorate how you want such as for kids birthdays.

  • Surprisingly good

    2.5 out of 5

A delicious rich and smooth chocolate cake – I was pleasantly surprised! Moist and decadent and not a bad price either. When time poor to make your own, this is a great alternative!

  • Get last minute cake

    4 out of 5

The coles chocolate cake is pretty good for the price! They are consistently made well and not dry. The icing is nice and looks shiny in appearance. I do prefer a home made cake but this one is also nice to eat.

  • Quite expensive

    4 out of 5

The label reads indulgent chocolate cake hand finished with velvety smooth ganache.
Really for the price I would expect more. Eaten out of the frig it tasted really no different to a standard generic mud cake. This cake is 500g and previously frozen and then thawed for customer purchase. OH do we not have fresh made any more? Any how my best tip : is to gently warm in the microwave and I mean gently, you don’t want the ganache to melt and turn into a mud puddle. Some how freshened in the microwave for a few seconds seems to bring out the flavour and makes this cake quite delicious. Sold for $12 but reduced at times when close to best before date.
