    Bought one of these to make pea and ham soup and it has lasted ages.
    I’ve used it to also make sandwiches and have put it in my fried rice.
    The fam love it as it has a nice smokey flavour which flavours whatever it is paired with.

    I use only bertocchi bacon hock smoked for my pea & ham soup. It seriously just makes the meal. It’s smokey flavours compliment the peas so we’ll and we all fight over who gets the bone.

    I read the previous comment and would have to agree. Generally these are the only oness available in local shops, unless you go to the butcher etc. They can be inconsistent in smell and flavour when cooking, but still great for a pea and ham soup and as long as you get one with plenty of meat on it, its always good.

    I only buy this unfortunately its the only option but ita usually very good. But inconsistent and i dont know why! Sometimes its got a beautiful strong smell and taste and sometimes it doesn’t smell like anything while cooked the same way!
