  • Cheap cut

    3.5 out of 5

This silverside of beef is often a cheap cut, however can be on the pricier side when not on sale. It is nice on sandwiches

  • Great family dinner

Good meat, never had any issues. Easy to put on in the slow cooker. Always buy the biggest one i can find so we have left overs for fritters on the second night.

  • Yum

This is a wonderful meal that’s easy to make in the slow cooker. So yummy and tender the whole family really enjoys this so it’s a winner for me

  • Slow Cooker Favourite

    5 out of 5

The whole family love it. So easy to cook in the slow cooker and budget friendly. It is super tasty and the leftovers are great for lunch the next day. Meat is becoming more expensive but this is still affordable.

  • Tonight's Main Star

    4.5 out of 5

In preparation for tonight’s dinner, out came the lovely Corned Silverside, a favourite for us all. I love to cook it in the pressure cooker, giving it around 70 or so minutes. Always comes our beautiful and tender, near pulls apart and melts in your mouth. The corning of the beef sure adds a massive difference. Enough left over for the next days lunch.

  • Always a winner in our house

The kids get so excited when we are having silverside. This cooks up perfectly in the slow cooker, meaning I can put it on and forget about it until dinner time.

  • Great silverside

We have this silverside regularly. It’s got a really nice flavour and is easy to prepare. The whole family loves it. I live the value for money and how many meals we can get from one piece

  • Hit and miss

    2.5 out of 5

I find that when I buy the beef corned silverside it’s really hit and miss! Sometimes it’s really good and can’t fault it, other times it’s not very nice and has lots of yuck bits through it!

  • /only will purchase from woolies

We have tried so many different corn beef and this is our absolute favourite. We probably have this at least once a week or fortnight. It has the right amount of saltness

  • family value

good for a good budget friendly family meal and there is always minimal waste. cooks up really easily and make for having nice cold meat as well to go on sausages.

  • Great value, nice and tender

    5 out of 5

I love cooking these in the slow cooker with cloves, onion, carrot and parsley. The meat is beautiful and tender and just falls apart. It’s great value as it’s a cheap piece of meat and there are no bones and only a very small layer of fat on the top. Makes beautiful sandwiches the next day as well.

  • ginger ale plus honey yummy

    5 out of 5

A slow cooker, enough ginger ale to cover the cornbeef plus honey on top of beef. Cook for 8 hours on low and then rest it for a bit. Served up for family with a side dish, left overs if any for sandwiches or fritters next day.

  • do like the low salt version.

    5 out of 5

I do prefer the low salt version but Beef Corned Silverside is a lovely reasonably priced meal. Just put silverside in large pot and add gingerbeer to cover and cook. So delicious and no need for the brown sugar, cloves and all that stuff.

  • Just add water, cloves and peppercorns

    5 out of 5

My gosh my family loves silverside. Add water, cloves and peppercorns, boil it up, then serve with boiled potatoes and carrots, and a cheese sauce. YUMMO

  • Delicious

    5 out of 5

One of my favourite meals. Bung it in the slow cooker in the morning and let it blip away all day. Comes out lusciously tender and moist and so full of flavour. Great on sandwiches the next day even with salads too

  • Love it!

    5 out of 5

This is a great meat cut! It is so versatile and we enjoy it as a roast, fritters, sandwiches how ever you do it you wont be disappointed!

  • Huge love of this

    4.5 out of 5

I used to do it in a slow cooker but it always came out a bit tough. Now I cook it for just as long but on a slightly higher heat than the slow cooker in a pot on the stove and it almost falls apart.. which is awesome for the kids as they don’t yet eat tough meats. A few bay leaves, cloves and an onion gives it the best flavour. Always great quality meat.

  • Awesome in the slow cooker

One of my favourite winter meals. Bung it in the slow cooker in the morning and let it blip away all day. Comes out lusciously tender and moist and so full of flavour. Great on sandwiches the next day too
