Unilever has taken a precautionary decision to voluntarily recall tubs of Blue Ribbon Ice Cream with best before dates between 28th April 2017 – 27th April 2018.

They shared the recall notice on social media to advise product users of their decision.

“We have been made aware of a very small number of cases where plastic has been found in these products and advise our consumers not to eat these tubs. If your product is affected by this recall, you can return your empty tub to your place of purchase for a full refund.

For further information please contact us on 1800 801 885 FREE. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience.

Blue Ribbon products are proudly made in Australia and our focus is always on the health and safety of our consumers and maintaining our high quality standards.”

They have also added an image showing people how to easily find the used by date if they are having problems.

  • No, I don’t have any ice cream in my freezer, which reminds me I need to buy some :) But no Blue Ribbon. At least it was only bits of plastic, I’ve heard of worse things found in food products
