ACCC have issued a  recall for Fitnesswise — Jolly Jumper Port A Stand due to concerns the frame can become  unstable.

The ACCC have said in a statement that the threaded parts of the locking bolt used to lock the top assembly have the potential to break when too much force is put on the black knob whilst assembling or disassembling the product.

The hook used to hold the harness is welded to the frame and only the locking bolt that is used to tighten the frame is affected.

Jolly Jumper Port-A-Stand Sets were sold through Big W between August & October 2017.

Consumers should stop using the product and contact Jolly Jumper on 02 9971 0470 or 02 9971 7044, or email jolly@fitnesswise.com.au to arrange delivery of a replacement “U” section with hook and black knob.

  • My kids loved theirs, but have often heard they are dangerous. Guess supervision is the missing link.

  • We had one for our baby that was attached to the doorframe. If the older child decided to swing it a bit the baby would sometimes vomit. After the older boy wore the vomit a couple of times he decided he would swing him any more.

  • Ooh, this could be very dangerous.

  • Wow that is scary for this type of product. I used to use an Infasecure stand for my one but my baby has outgrown it now.

  • such a shame that they don’t make things like they used to

  • Thanks for the heads up.
Anything concerning or kids safety is important. You don’t leave your baby alone in things like this anyway.

  • Such a huge concern especially since it’s for a baby. Wonder why it took so long to realise the danger

  • A very big concern, thanks again for another update.

  • We used a jolly jumper with my son around 13 years ago. I don’t know if it’s still on the market. The secret is… always be watching. You don’t put your child in it and walk away. My son had extreme colic and we found a jolly jumper was perfect for his gut and helping the air move through his body. A great community service though providing recalls of such products.

  • Our Jolly Jumper clamp broke and we ended up bolting a big hook into a door frame and hanging it off that. It was so much safer than before.

  • Every time something is recalled I wonder how they passed tests in the first place.
Very scary but thanks for sharing.

  • I had such a jumper when my daughter was young. Graco brand. She loved it.
