A product recall has been issued from Big W for popular girls pyjama set, because it could be a potential fire hazard.

The recall affects ‘Girls Frill Sleeve PJ – Emma Wiggles pyjamas’ in sizes two to six.

Article numbers include 1100177, 1100178, 1100179, 1100180 and 1100181 and can be found on the care instruction label of the product.

The product has been sold in BIG W stores around the country between January 2 and March 7.

It’s believed the frills on the top are a defect, because they do not comply with the requirements of the mandatory standard ‘Consumer Goods Safety Standard 2017’.

Anyone who has purchased this product from any BIG W store, is being urged to return it immediately for a full refund.

BIG W has also issued an apology to its customers for the inconvenience.

The recall also includes Girls Character Licensed Pyjamas

A recall has also been issued for Disney Marie Pyjama sizes 2-7 and Paw Patrol Skye Pyjama sizes 2-6, sold through BIG W between 02/01/2019 and 07/03/2019.

DEFECT
The frill on these garments do not comply with the mandatory Safety Standard: Consumer Goods (Children’s Nightwear and Limited Daywear and Paper Patterns for Children’s Nightwear) Safety Standard 2017

HAZARD
The garments may pose a potential fire hazard.

ACTION REQUIRED
Customers should cease using these products immediately and return to any BIG W store for a full refund.

  • A lot of clothes have frills on them, not just pyjamas. All clothing a fire hazard. The only exception might be 100% pure wool.
