A healthy smoothie recipe with serving options for toddler and baby.

Ingredients (serves 2)

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 300ml milk
  • 1/2 cup frozen berries
  • 1 Tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/4 cup natural or greek yoghurt + extra to serve

Method

  1. Place all ingredients into a blender, and blend on high speed for 1 minute.
  2. Pour half the smoothie in a cup, and the other half into a bowl with some yoghurt. Stir to combine.

Notes

I often make smoothies for my children, but my youngest is not quite at the stage of drinking from a cup, and smoothies tend to get clogged up in a sippy cup! I find mixing it with some yoghurt allows her to eat it from a spoon. Use any ingredients you have - it's a great way to pack in the nutrients. I often include an ice cube or two of spinach that I've blended and frozen - they never know!

  • Smoothies are the best! and my kids love them too. I often add some avocado as well for some good fats and they make the smoothie really creamy too!
