A family favourite and go to meal when we don’t know what to cook.


Ingredients (serves 6)

  • 1 tblspn olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 1 carrot, finely diced
  • 1 stick celery, finely diced
  • 400g lean beef mince
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 can chopped tomatoes
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 2 tbsp mixed herbs
  • 100ml tomato purée
  • salt and pepper to season
  • shaved parmesan to garnish

Method

  1. Put the oil, onion, carrot, celery and meat into the inner pot.
  2. Press sauté/sear high temp button, set cooking time to 15 mins and press start (don't close lid yet).
  3. Cook for 10 mins, then add the rest of the ingredients and let it cook til timer beeps.
  4. Close the lid, press the stew button and set cooking time for 30 minutes and press start.
  5. Serve over pasta, on toast or steamed greens. Enjoy!

  • I always loved seeing bolognaise recipes with veges included. They’re so easy to hide in the sauce and the kids never notice!
