A nice simple and easy Easter dish the kids and adults will love.

Ingredients (serves 12)

  • 100g fried noodles
  • 2 heaped Tbs crunchy peanut butter
  • 200g good milk chocolate
  • bag mini eggs

Method

  1. Lightly grease round based patty pan tins.
  2. Melt the chocolate and peanut butter together until fully melted and incorporated.
  3. Stir in the fried noodles.
  4. Place a tablespoon or so of the noodle chocolate mixture into each hole in tin and push upwards to make a basket shape.
  5. Place in fridge and once hardened remove and place two or three little eggs in centre.

Notes

To change it up you can substitute the fried noodles with shredded coconut and omit the peanut butter-great for a gluten free, nut free basket.

  • I’ve never tried the mini eggs, but this looks fantastic. So clever, little Easter Eggs ready to hatch, and all edible!!

  • I’d substitute the fried noodles for the shredded coconut. Can’t understand how fried noodles with chocolate could taste nice.

    • It does actually taste quite nice :)

      • It’s actually also nice with raw buckwheat kernels !

  • I made them with fried noodles and a gluten free version with coconut flakes. We used the diary- sugar- gluten free Sweet William Chocolate. As alternative to mini eggs we used salted caramel protein balls and shaped them in an egg shape.

  • Oh I had totally forgotten about fried noodles and chocolate. My mum used to make Changs choc spiders when I was a kid. Can’t wait to cook these with my kids – a great school holiday filler!
