Ingredients (serves 6)

  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tbs Yeast
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1/4 cup Cocoa powder
  • 1tbs Veg oil
  • Warm water

Method

  1. Mix all dry ingredients
  2. Add the egg, oil and water and mix until smooth, cover and put it in the fridge overnight
  3. For breakfast, cook and enjoy

  • I actually thought this was a crumpet – I wonder if the added yeast makes it more of a crumpet than an pancake? Either way, looks yummy!

  • I’ve never seen yeast in pancakes before but I guess that would make them very light and fluffy

  • My kids love chocolate pancake ! I often add raw chocolate chips and serve it with Greek yoghurt, cherries and strawberries.
