This recipe uses Mayver’s Peanut Butter and a host of other healthy ingredients.  Dates, banana, chia seeds and almond milk. And yes there’s also avocado – the newest creamy addition to chocolate mousse recipes. This recipe for Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse is vegan, and not hard to whip together at all!

Ingredients (serves 2)

  • 1 avocado
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp Mayver’s Peanut Butter
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 tbsp Mayver’s Peanut Butter
  • 2 dates
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1/3 cup chia seeds
  • Chocolate granola
  • Chocolate chips


  1. To create the chocolate mousse layer, mash the avocado and banana then mix all ingredients together in a bowl.
  2. For the chia pudding, mix all ingredients except the chia seeds in a blender until you have a smoothie paste.
  3. Add in the chia seeds and thoroughly mix through. Allow the pudding to sit for 10 to 15 minutes.
  4. Layer the mousse at the bottom of the jar and add in the chia pudding above.
  5. Sprinkle extra peanut butter, chocolate granola and chocolate chips for an added layer of sweetness!

  • I depends whether or not the cocoa powder is gluten free and ls labelled that OR whether it has “may contain traces of” a product that isn’t. If it does it is not suitable for people who have to eat the gluten free diet for medical reasons.
    You can have a wheat allergy but not have Coelic Disease.
    Be aware some are incorrectly labelled labelled Gluten Free but could still have traces.
