This recipe uses Mayver’s Peanut Butter and a host of other healthy ingredients.  Dates, banana, chia seeds and almond milk. And yes there’s also avocado – the newest creamy addition to chocolate mousse recipes. This recipe for Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse is vegan, and not hard to whip together at all!

Ingredients (serves 2)

  • 1 avocado
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp Mayver’s Peanut Butter
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 tbsp Mayver’s Peanut Butter
  • 2 dates
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1/3 cup chia seeds
  • Chocolate granola
  • Chocolate chips


  1. To create the chocolate mousse layer, mash the avocado and banana then mix all ingredients together in a bowl.
  2. For the chia pudding, mix all ingredients except the chia seeds in a blender until you have a smoothie paste.
  3. Add in the chia seeds and thoroughly mix through. Allow the pudding to sit for 10 to 15 minutes.
  4. Layer the mousse at the bottom of the jar and add in the chia pudding above.
  5. Sprinkle extra peanut butter, chocolate granola and chocolate chips for an added layer of sweetness!

  • This looks amazing and like it would taste great but I hope people don’t think that because this has healthy ingredients it will help them loose weight as it’s very very high in calories. But as a treat it’s perfect :)


  • Doesn’t the banana balance out the avocado taste? Because I can still always taste the avocado


  • Never thought to add banana to avocado mousse. Think I’ll try and cook banana until caramelised before adding to see if maple syrup can be cut from it.
