Chocolate Spiders would have to be one of the easiest recipes to make of all time!

Not only are these Chocolate Spiders a massive hit with every child at every party, Chocolate Spiders feature regularly on our ‘movie snacks’ list.

They are also perfect to send along to school for your child’s birthday for a few reasons:

  1. You can whip them up in minutes – you could even make these before school if you forgot about it the night before
  2. Nut free and egg free so you’ll be popular with the kids who have allergies
  3. Individual serves so the teacher will love that she doesn’t need to cut up a cake
  4. You are in charge of the serving size – make tiny Chocolate Spiders for little ones and slightly larger for the older children

What we love most about this recipe is that it is OH SO SIMPLE!  We think this is the best Chocolate Spiders recipe ever.

You can also have lots of fun with this recipe … If you are having these at home and there are no problems with allergies, add a tablespoon of crunchy peanut butter when you melt the chocolate, or throw in a handful of peanuts, crushed popcorn, currants or even Mini M&Ms. Remember to add another 100g of chocolate if you want to add extra ingredients.

Make your Chocolate Spiders party ready by adding some sprinkles while the chocolate is still wet or sprinkle with toasted coconut for an indulgent movie snack.

You don’t need to use a super high end chocolate for these Chocolate Spiders.  After all, they are a lovely basic that should be able to be whipped up quickly.  We always choose Nestle Plaistowe Cooking Chocolate in Milk Chocolate – a beautiful flavour and consistency every time.

Have fun making these Chocolate Spiders.  We’d love to hear what you thought of the recipe and whether you added a little twist of your own.  Tell us in the Comments below.

Ingredients (makes 24 spiders)

  • 2 packets Crunchy Noodles
  • 600g Milk or Dark Cooking Chocolate

Method

  1. Melt the chocolate in the microwave if you are in a hurry to make your Chocolate Spiders. Be careful to check and stir every 20 seconds as you don't want the chocolate to burn or clump up. If you have a little more time, melt the chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of boiling water (or use a double boiler if you have it).
  2. Mix in the noodles and stir well.
  3. Scoop on to a flat tray lined with baking paper, approximately 1 tbsp at a time. Leave in the fridge to set for a couple of hours.

  • These look like a great thing to make up with the Kiddies. Such a simple idea and I reckon the kids would love them.

Would love to have a topping like chopped up bits of Caramilk as it’s a current obsession of mine.
