My mum used to make the bread cases and fill them with all sorts of things. She’d make the bread cases first, and they can be stored for a while. She would then make a white sauce and in some of the sauce she’d put asparagus as the filling, or oysters, or salmon, or curried egg, or whatever you might like. Then put the fillings in the cases. put them in the oven to heat up and they were so nice. I still make them. Great as finger food at a party.
