Hawaiian Pizza Scrolls are perfect to serve as finger food, add to lunchboxes or enjoy as a yummy snack.

Ingredients (makes 26 Scrolls)

  • 2 1/2 Cups Plain Flour
  • 1 Sachet (7g) Dry Yeast
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Cup Warm Water
  • 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • Pizza Sauce
  • Shredded Ham
  • Pineapple Pieces
  • Grated Cheese

Method

  1. Place 1/4 cup of the warm water in a large warm bowl. Sprinkle with yeast and stir until dissolved. Add remaining water, salt, oil and 2 cups of flour; stir well. Stir in enough flour to make a soft dough.
  2. Knead on a lightly floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 4 to 6 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning to grease top. Cover; let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 60 minutes.
  3. Separate dough into 2 balls. On a lightly floured surface, roll out into rectangles. Spread each with pizza sauce, ham, pineapple and cheese, leaving about 1cm along the top to seal. Roll each from the long end to make a log. Cut crossways into equal portions, roughly 3cm thick.
  4. Place on a lined baking tray and cook in a preheated 200•C oven for roughly 30 minutes.

Notes

*I often make cheese and Vegemite scrolls with half of the dough. *I make my own pizza sauce but you can buy some near the tomato paste at the supermarket. *I leave the scrolls on the prepared trays for 15-20 minutes before putting them in the oven. *Perfect size for babies and toddlers. Both of my children love them. I also put 3 or 4 in my husband’s lunch box for work.
