A delightful tradition that will bring joy to every girl and boy.
Wishing One and All A Blessed and Joyous Christmas.

Ingredients (serves 8)

  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup decorating sugar
  • 3 tablespoons edible silver or gold glitter dust.

Method

  1. Mix above ingredients together. Place into bags for the children. Stand back and watch the joy on their little faces as they scatter the mix onto the ground on Christmas Eve.

Notes

POEM READS; On Christmas Eve before you sleep, go outside and take a peek. Can you see them? Are they near? If not, don't worry and have no fear. This little bag is all you need. It is full of magic reindeer feed. Sprinkle on your lawn tonight. It will help the reindeer as they take flight .As Santa's reindeer fly and roam, this magic feed will help lead them to your home. Special Note: Be sure to use edible glitter dust (the sort that you can decorate cakes with) as craft glitter is harmful to wildlife and pets as well as children if ingested.

  • Pinned for next Christmas, thank you for providing this.

  • aww THANK YOU so very much for the lovely comments moms. And of course you may ask where I got my beautiful reindeer mom93821, actually I have another slightly larger one that has her head tipped back and has silver glitter on her antlers. I purchased the smaller one first and the following year the bigger one came out. I call them mumma and bubba. If my mind serves me correctly I believe I got them from Coles a few years back.
A little information you may be interested in: Males of almost all deer species grow antlers, used to battle for females. But reindeer are the only species in which the females also grow them.
Do have a wonderful festive season all and please remember to put some milk and cookies out for Santa and some Magical Reindeer Food, carrots and water out for the wonderful reindeer on Christmas Eve. xxxxxxxxx
