Perfect size for little fingers to grab, kids will love these chicken skewers with satay sauce. They’re so tasty though you better make some for the adults too!


Ingredients (makes 20 Small skewers)

  • 400g Ingham’s Diced chicken breast
  • 1/2 small Onion, finely diced
  • 1 small Clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup Crunchy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 2 TBS Sweet Chilli sauce
  • 1 TBS Soy sauce
  • Squeeze of lemon or lime juice

Method

  1. Add a small amount of oil to a pan and add In the onions and garlic. Cook over a low heat for a few minutes until softened. Don’t allow them to brown
  2. Add in the peanut butter and water and stir until smooth
  3. Remove from the heat, and stir in the soy sauce, sweet chilli and the lemon/lime juice. Set aside
  4. Using small wooden skewers, thread on pieces of chicken leaving a small gap at the top
  5. Cook on a grill or hot frying pan until golden and cooked through. Serve immediately with the satay sauce

Sauce best kept in fridge and use within 3 days

  • I’ve always been worried about these skewers with kids and even dogs. Is it just my kids and their friends that use them as stabbers after eating the meat? And at a bbq, dogs could easily pick one up.

    • Sometimes pre-made skewers can be so expensive too.
