its a quick cheeky treat to have for those who are on paleo. Its a filling meal as well. You can have yoghurt and the mug cake alone without fruit if you want to be a little naughty without any kids around. Having the yoghurt also tames the rich flavour of the cake.

Ingredients (serves 1 | makes 1 )

  • 4 tbs almond meal
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbs almond milk
  • 2 tbs cocao
  • 1 tsp coconut sugar
  • 1 banana
  • 2 scoops vanilla yoghurt

Method

  1. get a mug, combined an egg and almond milk together, stir with a fork
  2. combined the dry ingredients in with the wet ingredients and stir it around until everything is mixed. Put the mug in the microwave for 1 minute.
  3. slice the bananas, grab the mug and take the chocolate cake out of the mug. place it in the middle or on the side of the plate. scoop out 2 vanilla yoghurt onto the side and place bananas around the plate for decoration. sprinkle some cocao over the cake and yoghurt.

Notes

I made this up as a small birthday cake for my son, since hes slowly onto paleo, I couldn't give him ice-cream. Knowing my son loves jalna yoghurt, it was a perfect combination. This was made up as a breakfast and morning tea combined. you can add icecream or cream instead of yoghurt but using yoghurt fills you up more and its much healthier.

  • Looks absolutely delicious. I must admit to being a bit dubious about Paleo food until I recently tried some and it was incredibly delicious.
