A juicy, tender steak.

Ingredients (serves 1)

  • 1 Steak of choice

Method

  1. Turn on barbecue to 180 degrees celcius.
  2. Rub both sides of steak with salt & pepper generously.
  3. Cook on barbecue for 2 minutes or until juices begin to run to the surface. Turn steak & do same.
  4. Remove from barbecue, place on plate, cover with foil for for 5 minutes.

Notes

This will cook you a medium rare steak. I used porterhouse however, any cut will do. Make sure you use good quality meat though. It's important to let meat rest prior to serving.

  • medium rare is perfect for me!

  • Or….cook for 1 min, turn and cook for 1 min. Keep turning and cooking at 1 minute intervals til desired cooking level is reached. Gives a yummy crust outside with moist tender meat inside

  • Thankyou, I always buy scotch fillet steak but manage to cook it to a chewy rubbery mess, tried your simple method, rubbed in seasonings and left it for half an hour or so then cooked, I gave it a little longer as I do not like any blood in the steak and wanted it medium, it was perfect, tender and delicious, now to try again next week and see if I can repeat this feat, thanks
