The whole family will love this beautiful slow cooked chicken dinner.


Ingredients (serves 5)

  • 1 whole chicken
  • 5 potatoes
  • 3 bunches of broccoli
  • 10 green beans

Method

  1. Put the whole chicken in slow cooker on low for 6 or 7 hours with a bit of water/stock.
  2. Cook the roast potatoes in the oven for 30 mins with lots of oil and butter for crunch. Drain in paper towel when cooked.
  3. Steam the beans and broccoli for 5-7 mins.
  4. Serve.

  • I must try this. I’d never have thought to put in the slow cooker with stock. Bet it will be very moist.

  • Was hoping the whole thing was slowed cooked as the title said. But not a bad way to do it, might try this with seasoning one of my sons does in the oven. That one is slowed in an oven for 3 hours, so a slow cooker would be better for me.

  • Great recipe and I can just taste that chicken in my mouth. Did slow cook a whole chicken once and then forgot how great it was – this will be happening again as often a roast chicken in the oven ends up having very dry breast meat.
