Try this delicious moroccan turkey filo pies recipe, you will be sure to add it to the family favourite list.

Makes 4

Prep time: 10 minutes

Total cooking time: 25 minutes

Ingredients

  • 500g Steggles turkey mince
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 21/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 21/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup chopped dates
  • 2 Tbsp chopped coriander
  • 4 sheets filo pastry
  • Olive oil cooking spray

Method

1. Heat the oil in a pan over medium high heat and cook the onion and garlic until soft. Add the mince and cook, breaking up with a wooden spoon until brown, add spices, dates and coriander.

2. Spoon mince mixture into four pie tins. Place one sheet of filo onto a clean dry surface, lightly spray with cooking spray, fold in half. Gently scrunch filo to cover pie filling. Repeat with remaining filo to cover all pies. Place pies on baking tray and bake in 200C preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until filo is golden.

  • This looks great (should there be chickpeas included? – the photo looks like there are.). I’m always looking for new ways to use turkey mince, which we often eat.

  • These look and sound delicious. I love that it uses turkey mince, something I’ve never cooked with. I’m not a fan of coriander, but could easily just leave that out.
