Once you get the hang of cutting into the strawberries this is truly a quick but impressive treat to make up.

Ingredients

  • 1-2 Punnets Fresh - Medium to large Strawberries

Method

  1. Wash and gently dry the strawberries. You can insert a skewer through the bottom of the strawberry but I found it just as simple to work with on a chopping board.
  2. Make roughly four cuts toward the bottom of the strawberry. The cuts should encircle the bottom of the fruit and be driven down toward the green stem area. Do not at any point cut off or remove flesh of the strawberry.
  3. Work your way up the strawberry continuing the same cutting process, working your way around the perimeter until you get to the top. Drive your knife downward, only slightly through the top of the berry to create the final petals. I carefully removed the very tip top part of the strawberry to have a more opened bud look. Do this process with as many of the strawberries that you wish to use.
  4. Serve. I have presented them in a multitude of ways from inserted on skewers and arranged as a bouquet served with chocolate dipping sauce, to simply arranged on a plate with fresh blueberries etc. whipped cream and meringues. Use your imagination with this simple but effective way of presenting fruit. Enjoy!
