Delicious and eye catching entertaining treat

Ingredients (serves 6 | makes 12 )

  • Puff Pastery 2 sheets Puff Pastry, thawed
  • Whipped cream 1 can
  • Caster sugar 3 tbs
  • lemon juice 2 tbs
  • Eggs 2 egg yolks

  1. Pre heat oven 170 Allow Pastery to thaw, Whisk egg yolks Lightly coat pastry with icing sugar
  2. Grease 12 pastry cones ( large department and cooking essential stores stock these ) Cut pastry into thirds then in half Carefully wrap the pastry around the cones spiraling upwards Lightly brush with egg mix, sprinkle with sugar and place on a baking tray and put in the o en for 10-12 mins or until lightly golden
  3. Allow to cool and scoop a small amount down part of the inside, fill the rest of the pastry with whipped cream Dust the cones with icing sugar and serve straight away ( if wanting to store for a short time or transport use home made whipped cream as it will hold its form, just a bit more fiddley than the can)

  • Oh! This looks really beautiful and indulgent!!

  • these sound divine!

  • A fab recipe and great for friends popping in! Thanks.

  • HI mom199864,
I did have a little trouble reading this recipe and still can’t quite get: Allow to cool and scoop a small amount down part of the inside,
Also noticed in the recipe it stated :lemon juice 2 tbs BUT can not see how and where this is used.
Did notice you also used some jam ..gotta have that.
Thanks for sharing though and your Trubochki look amazingly delicious…sooo yummm.

    • Hi, im so sorry about that, I should have looked over it better in the preview. I add the lemon juice in the cream. And the explanation should have read, allow the pastry horns to cool before placing raspberry jam down one side. … Also noticed I forgot to mention that I roll the pastry a little to slightly lengthen the cut portions. I think need to write these long recipes down before I start typing from memory. Sorry again

      • …. Also realizing I simplified this version using canned cream!!!! Omit lemon juice or replace canned cream with hand whipped cream..

Whip cream adding a tbs of icing sugar, slowly add lemon juice and continue whipping until firm,
Place in piping bag , or freezer bag with the tip cut and pipe into cones ….

Big method fail, I’m so sorry!
