This casserole is an old favourite my mum used to make when we were little. You can add more or less curry powder depending on your taste.

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 2 Tbsp Butter
  • 1 onion
  • 2 Tbsp Plain Flour
  • 1 tsp curry powder
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tin Tuna
  • 1 sml tin Diced pineapple

Method

  1. Melt butter and add onion to cook.
  2. Once onion is soft add flour and curry powder to make a paste. Add a little salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Add the milk and simmer until thickens.
  4. Once thick add tuna and pineapple mix together and it's ready to serve.

  • I have to try this. Reminds me of when my mum would add pineapple to tuna mornay and it was delicious. Thanks for the recipe.

  • A lady in her 80s used to make similar to this in a saucepan. She added a liitle more salt and didn’t put curry or onion in it because of digestion problems. It was delicious. You can also serve it with a side serve of boiled or steamed pumpkin and potatoes mashed together.
If you want a stronger fish flavour you can use tinned salmon instead.
