ACCC have issued a recall for Childcare Snuggle Time Bedside Sleeper and Norluc Baby Car Seat

CNP Brands have recalled a Childcare Snuggle Time Bedside Sleeper.

There are concerns the mattress base may lean towards drop down side. Health recommendations are for infants to sleep on their backs.

Consumers should test their unit and if it is not level, contact the distributor for a replacement mattress cover, which can be placed over the existing mattress of the product to ensure that any impacted units lay flat as intended.

What are the defects?
The Childcare Snuggle Time Bedside Sleeper mattress base may lean very slightly left to right, towards the drop down side (the co-sleeper function side of the product). The incline can may cause the infant to roll if the unit is not set up correctly, placed on an unlevel surface or have a manufactured variation of 1.5 degrees. Health recommendations are for infants to sleep on their backs.

What are the hazards?
The risk of an infant rolling while in the bassinet.

What should consumers do?

Consumers should test their unit and if the unit is not level, contact the distributor for a replacement mattress cover, which can be placed over the existing mattress of the product to ensure that any impacted units lay flat as intended.

Saint Constance have recalled the Norluc Baby Car Seat. Child car seats without required labelling or user instructions may not be used correctly, posing an increased risk of injury in an accident.

What are the defects?
The product does not comply with numerous user instructions and labelling requirements under the mandatory standard Consumer Protection Notice No.3 of 2014, Safety Standard: Child restraint systems for use in motor vehicles.

What are the hazards?
Child car seats without the required labelling or user instructions may not be used correctly, posing an increased risk of injury to the occupant if the vehicle is in an accident.

What should consumers do?
Consumers should stop using the product immediately. Consumers should contact Saint Constance Pty Ltd on 03 9763 9986 or email saintconstance@hotmail.com to arrange the return of the product and a full refund.

  • I have never heard of that brand of baby seat. I wonder whether it is manufactured in Aust. or overseas. How did it manage to pass Australian Safety Standards in the beginning or is it only a faulty batch. One company in Aust. quality checks its Babyseats etc
