Received photos via email from friends and family? Many people “Save” these photos by filing their emails into a folder. Is this saving?
The main reason why you should save photos to your device is that it means all of your photos are where you want them to be, instead of scattered throughout your inbox. There’s nothing worse than trying to find a specific photo and having to sift through hundreds of emails to find it!
Also, if you don’t save your photos to your device, you are relying on your internet connection to be able to view your photos. Filing these emails into a folder is a great first step, and take that extra step to save the image to your computer as well.
Here’s how:
IF YOU ARE USING A WEB BASED EMAIL SUCH AS GMAIL:
1. Open the email containing the photo
2. Click on the Download symbol, and this will save the image to the Downloads folder on your computer
3. Once it is in the Downloads folder, you can move the photo into your Picture folder!
IF YOU ARE USING A EMAIL PROGRAM SUCH AS: MICROSOFT OUTLOOK, MAC MAIL, THUNDERBIRD
If you are viewing your emails through a program, saving your photos is a little different:
1. Open the email containing the photo
2. Right click on top of the image to bring up a menu. Choose “Save Attachment…”
3. Choose which folder to save this picture to Eg. Pictures
By saving the image to your computer, if your internet connection is down, or if you accidentally delete the email, your image will be on your device!
Hope you found the tip helpful
I’ll leave you with a picture of Frankie having a bath (Sunday’s are now bath day as he goes to Puppy School and gets very wet and muddy)
