A second missing Chibok schoolgirl has been found in Nigeria.

Yesterday we reported that one of the 219 girls missing after their abduction from a secondary school in north-east Nigeria in April 2014, had been found in Sambisa Forest.

Today SBS reports a second schoolgirl has been rescued.

The second girl was found days later, according to army spokesman Sani Usman, who released the information on Thursday in a message carried by PR Nigeria, which releases government statements.

We hope this is the start of many more to be found.

  • I do hope it is the beginning of the release / finding of more of those girls. Can’t imagine what they’ve been through.

  • Happy to read that there was a reasonably happy ending for some of these families but there are still so many that may not experience this.

  • This girl is so lucky to have been found and returned to her family. It is unfathomable to me that so many girls were taken at once, over 200 are still missing and they seem to be lost as to how to find them. So very sad for all concerned

  • How amazing for 2 of the families, but devestating still for so many more. My heart breaks for these parents.
