We love playgrounds! When you have wild, active kids like mine they’re a sanity saver. And they’re also totally free to use – how cool is that?
There are literally hundreds of wonderful playgrounds in Sydney, here’s a list of my family’s favourite playgrounds with stunning water views.
Not only are the playgrounds themselves really well equipped, but their glorious views can help lift even the most flagging and sleep-deprived parents’ spirits.
There’s a spacious enclosed area for little kids, lots of thrilling equipment for the bigger kids, a huge sandpit and the best stone sculptures of all the playgrounds in Sydney.
Set right in the middle of the promenade, with the best views of Sydney’s most iconic beach, this enclosed playground has great equipment for young children especially.
Fantastic views of Sydney Harbour from this huge playground set in a beautiful reserve by a sweeping harbour beach. There’s an enclosed area for the little ones and challenging equipment for the big kids.
This playground has ship themed equipment and is especially good for younger children. It is set in a huge reserve and is close to the netted swimming area. Kids love seeing the nearby Spit Bridge raise and lower and all the boats going by. Lovely views of Middle Harbour, however it’s not all at enclosed.
Brand new and full of marvellous equipment, this playground is one of the best on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. It has glorious ocean views and is close to the beach and the fabulous kids rock pool and beach area. It’s fully enclosed.
Enjoy the best harbour views in Sydney for free from this excellent playground. It has all sorts of groovy equipment including a water play area. It’s not enclosed and right on the water’s edge so be careful with the little ones.
This very large and fully fenced playground has fantastic play equipment, and lots of sand, so bring your bucket and spade. It is set within a large park right on the beach. There’s a rock pool and a small safe beach for kids to splash at.
So there are our favourites. But there are more. I’d love to hear about the playgrounds with great water views that you love. And not necessarily in Sydney, of course.
Look forward to reading and exploring more great playgrounds – you’ve got to love free fun with the kids. Feel free to share your favourites in the comments below!
