Cadbury has an incredible caramel spread that you will want to put on absolutely everything!

It seems that Cadbury can do no wrong, turning its iconic caramel block into an equally delicious spread. The 400g tubs will be sold via supermarket giant Coles combining Cadbury dairy milk chocolate with the signature caramel – there are even Malteser and Crunchie varieties!

A Taste Sensation

The Daily Mail reports that Facebook users are already sharing their love for the spreads. “This is awesome on pancakes,” wrote one mother after trying the caramel spread on pancakes. Fans of the original Cadbury Caramello chocolate say options for the spread are endless. “It’s nice melted and poured over ice cream,” one commenter suggested. Amazon reviews also provided some unique ideas for enjoying the different flavours. “You can use them as a dip for apple slices, pretzels etc. It’s really good” We think that sounds like a delicious treat idea for a Friday lunchbox!

Something For Everybody

Mums were divided when asked whether they would purchase the spreads. “Do you really want this in your body!? For your kids!?” asked one concerned mum. “They all belong in the bin…might as well eat a bag of sugar,” said another. Others, however, were quick to jump on the Cadbury spread bandwagon. “The caramel one is calling me!” one mum said. “I bought them all!”

We think that the spreads are ok as a treat once in a while, not only as a fun lunchbox idea but also as an addition to your Easter long weekend breakfast or school holiday dessert. If you’re not a sweet tooth though, perhaps these spreads aren’t for you…

  • I can imagine the “school police” will using it as an excuse to “police” pupil’s lunch boxes again. There has been plenty of controversy about that. Particularly when teachers don’t know what the ingredients are and jump to conclusions that something such as a muffin isn’t healthy. Its main ingredient was grated vegetable as the child is intolerant to wheat and dairy. Special flour was used in it too. If we knew what the ingredients were in some bought bread we wouldn’t eat it.

  • We don’t use these types of spreads but, saying that, if there was one made from Cookies and Cream, I’d just have to try it out.

  • Seem like a good idea but not for this family. Too much of this type of things being made. Have enough health problems in this family.

  • I tried it and just found it far too sweet. My caramel loving daughter though, LOVES it. Only for a treat every now and then though.
