I wish they had such a service everywhere! Of course with qualified people. I can see it getting out of control, though. There would be many people wanting to use this service.

i have no idea what being a member of that group entails ie fees etc but that could be a handy service for some. i wouldn’t use it though because i would want my kids with me all the time

Ikea do have a childminding centre. I have seen people take advantage of it. Parents have to fill out forms, show ID, and do the same again when they collect their child. They are also given a two-way radio or pager (I’m not sure which) so the parent can be contacted if necessary. Staff are Police Checked and there is constantly people going to the area either leaving or collecting children… However unless it is on the form the parent fills in they are not asked if their child has been vaccinated or is sick. Hopefully the questions are on the form….Not sure I would use the service …except maybe in a dire emergency

The nanny to tag along would be great when you need help but don’t want to eave your hold with a stranger.

A nice idea but I probably would not have used it when my child was little.

Dropping off children in play areas has been around for a while now like mom90758 states at Ikea, caravan parks have them, and large clubs…I am impressed however with the photo ID on arrival and do hope this extends to pick up as well. The nanny to tag along with you is very impressive and I’m sure would benefit many. Well done Rhodes.

I think good on this mall for thinking of their community this way. What a great community outreach program.

Not a service for me – but probably useful for other parents.

I’d use that soooo much.

It doesn’t look bad at all. A little bit like in Ikea, where you can leave kids for a certain amount of time while you go shopping.

I am sure many mums would like to use this service.
