Paloma Faith, says she wants more kids and wants them “to be who they want to be”.

The UK singer has always refused to reveal the name or sex of her child after giving birth in December, shares The Mirror.

She shared that she wants more kids with French boyfriend, Leyman Lahcine, – but does not want them defined by their gender.

Speaking at the Q Awards at London’s Roundhouse Paloma, 36, said: “I’m loving being a mum.

“I want two or three kids in all and they’ll be gender neutral.”

She vowed not to dress her children in stereotypical “boy/girl”colours such as pink and blue, insisting: “I just want them to be who they want to be.”

Recently we shared the story of baby Searyl Atli, the Canadian government claims the 8-month-old could be the first baby in the world without a government registered gender. Read more on that story HERE.

There was also the  Californian couple who have said they will allow their child to decide whether he or she would like to be raised as a boy or a girl and until then raise him or her as gender fluid. Read that HERE.

Today we heard of Ministers in the UK trying to ban the term “pregnant women” — as it could offend transgender parents.

  • Think this can be very confusing and cause conflicts in the personal development and identity of the child.

  • I think ths might prove harder than she hopes.

  • Interesting. I guess her kids get to decide so what is the harm?

  • I have a son and a daughter so my home was full of male and female toys. They picked up and played with whatever they wanted to play with. You can’t escape the fact you child us male or female tho

  • I’m completely against stereotyping but, you are the sex you are when you are born and there is no denying that – the child, when older, should be left to decide on their own path in life.

  • I agree on providing opportunities for boys and girls to do the same things, wear what they want to wear, etc however at a young age genitals kindof define gender and I find this concept odd. It could be confusing for the child and cause more harm than good

  • My youngest ones are sort of been brought up like that. My daughter likes outside things, short hair and refuses to wear dress or girl things. My son her brother loves the so called girl things, cleaning, cooking, has his hair length to his shoulders ( wears it up most times), wears flowing clothing. This is their choice as both have been brought up the same. School next year will be fun as they will be having to wear uniforms.

    • That could be a big challenge. I hope you don’t choose a school where girls aren’t allowed to wear trousers. :-)

  • He or she is the child of this particular person and whilst I recognise that this is how they choose to bring up their child or children, I find myself wondering about the confusion it may cause other children who interact with the child who is gender fluid, if indeed they choose to float between both sexes.

  • Hmm an interesting perspective on how she wants to raise her child. I wonder if it will have had enough information, life etc to make up it’s mind when it’s older.

  • This is just getting ridiculous now! How are these children going to be functioning members of society if they are not at least taught the specifics of the gender that they were born as. If they want to make decisions later in life then so be it. But honesty if you are born a boy, then you are a boy until proven otherwise.

  • I wonder if who her child wanted to be was someone very gender specific if she would be ok with that?

  • Mmm… Not very sure what I think about this…
