Hello!

If you just can’t cope with another collectible craze, skip the frenzy and buy a full set NOW!

With the announcement of a new Coles collectible craze comes the collective sigh of parents dreading the weekly shop as they attempt to collect twenty four plastic figurines before the promotion ends. It may seem like there’s no alternative but to visit the shops multiple times a week to ensure you don’t miss out, but what if we told you there a way to get a full set of Stikeez right now?

Too Easy

It turns out that the Stikeez collectible range is not unique to Coles – UK supermarket giant Lidl ran the campaign back in 2017, with 24 fruit and veg characters just like the Australian range that will be available from this Wednesday 13 of February!

If you’re an internet savvy mum you’re probably one step ahead of us, but this means that a quick search on eBay will lead you to a full set of Stikeez, complete with case, for around $45!

No more $30 minimum to get just one figurine, no more incomplete sets, no more collectible swapping…sounds too good to be true!

While the Aussie characters have cute locally inspired names, like ‘Sunny the Strawberry’ named after Sunny Ridge Strawberry Farm in Victoria, we doubt your kids will notice the difference!

Making Healthy Eating Fun

We love that the new range encourages kids to try a variety of fruit and veg, making encouraging healthy eating a little more fun.

As with every collectible range, there is debate around whether giving away these plastic figurines is counter-productive in reducing the use of plastics in Aussie supermarkets – buying a full set of pre-loved Stikeez is one way to not only reduce the stress of grocery shopping, but do your bit to reduce plastic waste!

So what are you waiting for?

  • wow….I had forgotten about these.

  • I see these being useful in the future, sticking them to the fridge to remind kids (and yourself!) to buy/eat certain fruits and vegetables. They’re more useful than cards that never got looked at again.

  • I really wish Coles would stop adding to landfill by creating more plasticky junk!

  • No way would I pay for something they’re giving away. People have got rocks in their heads

  • More landfill in a few months once the craze has worn off. You should do better than this, Coles.

  • We will have fun this promotion while it runs.

  • These are OK if your child has a proper play kitchen but I would rather something more useful was given.

  • They’re very cute and I can imagine many will love them. I feel like I’m drowning in collectibles. If I spend the right amount etc. I will take them and offer them to others in the supermarket or area with kids who would like them. I won’t go out of my way though to collect them.

  • So is it spend a minimum of $30 like the others?

    • Seems to be the same as the previous mini campaigns. :)

  • Collecting them yourself is the whole point. .. not just theend result of having the set.

  • I think part of the fun for the kids is opening the packet to see if its a new one. I’m not too crazy about collecting the whole lot but kids do love the little surprize.

  • Not interested in this promotion but loved the mini shops ones.

    Reply

  • Not for me! Not interested at all!

  • Just another gimmick to get you to buy more groceries. Not for me thanks all the same

  • I’d much rather kids be excited to collect fruit and vegetables compared to little versions of Bleach! Hilarious that this has been run in European countries before. Leftovers? ????
