You can win a night at IKEA and get a relaxing night’s sleep.

The Swedish furniture giant is offering a competition for a “once-in-a-lifetime overnight experience” that’s all about getting the perfect night’s sleep. There will be a special “sleep zone” which takes into account your “sleep style” with your choice of linen, pillows and “sensory elements”.

You’ll also experience a range of pre-sleep activities, including a massage, and be served an IKEA breakfast in bed.

IKEA Australia’s Country Sales Manager Mark Mitchinson said: “These tailored experiences — which are taking place in most stores around the country — are designed to inspire Australians to prioritise a good night of sleep, in order to better take on the day.

“At IKEA, our research has shown that Australians are still struggling to get a good night’s sleep, so we’re excited to be able to share inspiring and informed solutions for the bedroom.”

To enter the competition, you’ll have to visit IKEA on February 23 or 24 and tell them in 25 words or fewer why you deserve a good night’s sleep at IKEA.

This year, stores participating include IKEA Adelaide, IKEA Canberra, IKEA Tempe, IKEA Rhodes, IKEA North Lakes and IKEA Logan.

Dates of the sleep experience vary. Check for your local IKEA store below:
IKEA Tempe — April 16
IKEA Rhodes — May 2
IKEA Canberra — March 30
IKEA Logan — April 6
IKEA Northlakes — April 6
IKEA Adelaide — March 30

I actually think the idea sounds a bit creepy? Would you be able to relax and get a good nights sleep?

  • I have a good night sleep in my own bed, thank you very much.

  • There’s no way I would be able to sleep. Locked up in a closed store over night. It would be scarey and not feel right at all!

  • Um no, creepy. I would feel like I was locked in the store after closing!

  • Not for me but I wouldn’t mind the massage

  • Ummm, this is an unusual experience. Not one that I’m interested in.

    • It is unusual and sometimes it can be a good thing!

  • I’ll pass on this – it’s hard enough for me to sleep these days without trying to sleep with others around.

  • Wouldn’t sleep I’m sure! Imagine that is the night the store is burgled! Nothing more creepy than being on your own in a huge strange place .. not sure it would be any better if they did a few couples at a time!

  • I hope it’s not a “sleepover” with a lot of kids, otherwise I don’t expect much sleep! :-)

  • No doesn’t sound appealing to me, lol

  • Sounds like a great idea. However I dont like the sound of sleeping in a room full of people I dont know. I think knowing that, I probably wont sleep.
