Hello!

Grocery shopping is one massive juggling act at the moment. How do we avoid completely blowing the budget while still spending enough to complete our Coles Little Shop 2 and Woolworths Lion King Ooshies collection? It’s not easy, as I’m sure many of you already know.

Earlier this week, we pleaded to Woolies to consider bringing out a superhero Ooshie collection next and now we’re turning our attention to Coles in the hope they’ll consider giving us the Little Garden campaign.

Some passionate shoppers from across the ditch have shared the cutest pics of the Little Garden promotion, which was launched in New World supermarkets in New Zealand.

As reported in New Idea Food, this supermarket chain originally launched the Little Shop as well as the food container campaign so it’s no surprise that sharp shoppers are predicting that Little Garden will follow.

Plastic Police Will LOVE This!

Those recycling rangers who have lambasted Coles for their unnecessary use of plastic in the mini-shop toys, will rejoice if the Little Garden does come our way.

The promotion involves giving customers a seedling kit and various seeds when they shop at the supermarket. In the New Zealand stores, there was also adorable merchandise on offer, such as children’s gardening gloves and watering cans.

Shoppers got pretty passionate about the project and loved sharing photos of their growing plants.

We reckon Little Garden is coming soon. Let Coles know that you are just as keen as us.

  • I totally missed these. Most likely the bush turkeys would have eaten them anyway

  • It seems Woolworths have beat Coles to the punch. I’ve seen adverts for Woolworths little garden collectables, nothing about a Coles version

  • Think $40 spend to get a packet of seeds is a bit too big – the packets usually retail for around $2 to $4 each.

  • Now this I would actually love. Let’s wait and see what happens. I feel they need space between each promotion. It’s becoming exhausting.

  • I feel this is going the wrong way! Whilst I totally support this initiative 100% I’m completely disappointed that you have to spend $40 to get a packet of seeds! If they truly cared about the initiative they would give the seeds at every $20-30 spent. This is not helping those who can’t buy groceries and seeds themselves but would benefit greatly from being able to raise their own fruit and veg

  • This I would totally support

  • Yes please!! Much more exciting and educational, we need to get kids growing their own food, some will not grow well especially the ones you cannot transplant but still lots of fun and it is an activity that will take up a little time too. I want them for myself!!
