The debate continues over Fergie’s new video clip with one chat show host getting a bit too real.

Earlier this week we shared a post from The Milk Meg who is frustrated about the clip saying “Breastfeeding in a music video…good. Totally sexualised…bad. Our work to normalise breastfeeding continues!”

Chat show host, Wendy Williams, has hit back at the critics who slammed Fergie’s new music video for M.I.L.F.$.

The outspoken host said she was shocked to hear that people thought that it was “gratuitous” and “low-brow”.

“I thought it was typical Fergie, a girl having cartoon-ish fun. The song itself is really cute. We’ll know all the words to it by July 15. Mark my words.”

“We’ve become so numb to sexuality and what is provocative these days, but I have no problems with this. Personally speaking I think the people are hating on this are mums who haven’t lost that last 20lbs,” she said.

“OR Being a MILF isn’t about weight, so I’ll take that back. When you push the babies out a lot of people push their beauty out as well.”

She continued: “Some women get more beautiful and other women just settle into the life of mum. It doesn’t mean you’re not beautiful.”

Fergie’s inspiration

“Changing the acronym to Moms I’d Like To Follow is about empowering women who do it all,” Fergie told Entertainment Weekly.

“They have a career, a family, and still find the time to take care of themselves and feel sexy. With a wink of course.”

COME ON!  Nowhere in there did Fergie say it is about giving women the right to bag one another out about their baby weight loss. When will it end?

  • I haven’t seen or heard the song, I’ll be looking for it tho. I don’t agree with the statement sone women get more beautiful and some just be mums. It is possible to be both

  • Just because you have those little darlings does not mean you have to lose your beauty! The kids like you to keep yourself nice. One day when I went to the movies with my eldest son he said Gee mum you looks so nice today. You always look nicely dressed and I am proud to be out with you! That made me feel fantastic! He was about 18 at the time.

  • I love it ! They\’re all different sizes ! Yeah they have a lot of help but still u make that choice to sit in your jammys all day or get off ur arse and do something to make you feel good! You don\’t need to be a size 6 to be sexy, but being healthy and looking after yourself not only sets a good example but makes u feel good! I know I feel better with my hair done makeup on and a nice vomit free outfit! Plus a good work out always puts me in a great mood!!

  • These women are certainly beautiful. But is this outward beauty all that important really ? What makes us beautiful in our inside, not our outside. This brings beauty down to something “cheap”.

  • I have watched the clip. Yes the women are beautiful and we shouldn’t feel anything less than beautiful just because we haven’t “perfect” bodies, faces, careers etc.
This clip however totally sexualises women and suggests by the clip that men eg. the guy in the milk van totally want to bed the women Mum I’d Like to F*% $ and to me it suggests that only if you look as beautiful/hot as they do are you worthy to F*% $ or Follow. Just remember most of us don’t have personal trainers, chefs, nutritionist, stylists and airbrushing, don’t forget we don’t have nannies either.
I don’t aspire to be like these mega rich ladies but I do want to be the best Mum I can to my children and I am doing the best with what I have got.

  • yep it I was a multi-million dollar celebrity, who had a crew of make up artists, stylists, weight loss coaches, chef, dieticans, beauty therapist, nanny’s etc etc I would probably look a million bucks after having a kid too!

For most of us that are not celebrities the struggle, to multi-task kids, husbands, work, cleaning etc wins out because we put everything else before we put ourselves – hands up guilty of that here!

Still not sure what I make of this video clip, it’s certainlly not my favourite, either is her song, but I guess it is doing what Fergie wants it to do which is get played and talked about and get her name in the headlines!

  • I don’t know what to make of this clip. Good on them for getting back into shape and looking after themselves. I would love to have the support they have but unfortunately we don’t all make millions

  • Some have a lot more time to give thought to their appearance, especially after the kids have gone to school, are out for the day or left home.
Some spend a fortune, others don’t have the resources.

  • I think they all look awesome. Good for them

  • As if the video wasn’t vacuous enough, now more nonsense added to the mix. Tune off from all this rubbish people, and you will be happier.

  • the song was horrible, and I will be changing station every time it comes on the radio. The video clip was different. Not a fan of this kind of “art”
