Hello!

I was in the best shape of my life before falling pregnant. I enjoyed going to the gym and living an active lifestyle. During my pregnancy, my activity levels reduced significantly. I didn’t feel like working out and thought I would give myself a nice little break. I have struggled to get back on board since having my baby girl 6 months ago. I have a wardrobe of clothes that do not fit and I wondered where i would easily find time to commit to exercise. I find 15-20 minutes is about max for a dedicated amount of ‘exercise time’. I have started 1000 skips a day! I do it in the privacy of my garage when my baby takes her first nap for the day. I put my gym gear on, and grab my skipping rope. It is currently taking the full 20 minutes to complete and I am taking a lot of rest intervals but I know my cardio fitness is improving each time I commit myself to this activity. I feel proud of myself every time i finish, no matter how many times i trip up or how many rest breaks i need to take. Sometimes I do it twice per day…. 500 skips each time to equal my 1000 skips a day! It’s an activity giving me great results and something that is easy to find the time to do.

  • I used to skip when I was younger and it was great exercise! I think you just inspired me to start tomorrow. I’ll try and do what you are doing except I’m in am apartment so wonder if I’ll get the same results with an imaginary rope?! I guess jumping up and down 1000 times is better than sitting on the couch. Let’s see how this goes.. :)
