Hello!

When i found out i was pregnant, it was suspected i had an ectopic pregnancy, (in the fallopian tubes).
I had a scan and was relieved to find it was only cysts on my ovaries, the size of oranges :|
From there It all got worse! I had low iron and underwent infusions.
I also had calcification of my placenta at 19 weeks which is very rare.
My morning sickness changed to intense heartburn at 22 weeks.
When i thought it couldn’t get worse, i was diagnosed with a rare condition of pups which is a rash in the stretch marks of your stomach.
Last but not least after a very uncomfortable pregnancy, i was induced at 39wks and had 3 failed inductions and after 3 days of labor my little man was bought into the world via ceaser.
MY MESSAGE TO OTHER MUMS WITH COMPLICATED PREGNANCIES: My life has never been better now i have had my little man, he is a healthy 9 months old and has slept through from 6 weeks old.
He is very active and we both couldn’t be happier!
Luck will be on your side soon!!!!

  • I went through a tough pregnancy with my daughter (not as tough as you) with hyperemesis gravidarum. Ended up in hospital as I could not keep even water down. Was induced because my daughter was three weeks overdue, but my body refused to dialate more than 3 cm, they kept giving me injections to increase the contractions, it did not work, for three days I was in hard labor, until finally they gave me a c-section. I was devastated I could not give birth naturally but loved my daughter.

With my son I was determined to have a VBAC (Vaginal birth after Cesarean), my Drs did not want me to, but I am stubborn and persisted. My body went into natural labour all by itself (massive explosion of my waters breaking on my bed overnight). It felt awesome to know that my body actually did know what it was doing. I decided I did not want drugs, as every time I had them in my last labor, my contractions died down. Anyway my contractions started dying down, so they sent my hubby home but would not let me go home because my waters had broken, they put me in a women’s ward overnight, however at 3 am in the morning my contractions decided to start up again with a vengeance, I got to that sweet stage where you can not even breathe through the pain, I knew that I could do it, however my hubby was not there despite them contacting him he was still on his way and they kept asking if I wanted drugs, but because I could not speak to say no, they gave me Pethadine and by the time hubby arrived they had all but stopped. I was so angry. I knew my own body and they made my only voice go home and therefore no one was there to speak for me. As it had been so long I ended up with another c-section.

I love my son to death and at least I know my body can do the right thing if given a chance.

    • Oh wow! It sounds so similar to me, in a way! It’s so much to go through..
I’m glad there’s so many other Mums out there experiencing similar things!
I’m so not sure whether to be bothered trying VBAC next time?
Would you just go c section second time around if you had your time again?

  • Well done on getting through it all in one piece! (Not that you had much choice) lol.. Sounds like you’ve done a great job raising your lil 9 month old!

    • Haha I did feel kind of stuck, but even if we all had the choice we would go through the hell and back for our little ones anyday! Gotta love them!
