Hello!

I’d love to write and tell all the Brisbane mummies out there about a fantastic place that I have found! It’s called Serendipity Farm and they have a Facebook page too that you can check out. They are a farm run by some lovely people out of the goodness of their hearts. They rescue farm animals who otherwise would have been put to sleep or were in bad situations and give them a home. The best thing is is that you can visit with your kids every Sunday for free! If you would like to you can give them a donation and it is definitely worth the visit. They also appreciate if you bring along some food for the animals and you can go into a lot of the enclosures to feed them. We took a bag of carrots that was very well received by all of the animals!
The farm has ponies, goats, sheep, horses, pigs, llamas and even a camel! You can also hold birthday parties there- you just need to self-cater. My little girl and boy both had an absolute blast there, and afterwards we were able to take them for a picnic in the bush over near the Gap. The farm is also close enough that you could visit Lick Ice-creams at Graceville before heading home! (by the way the BEST ice-cream in Brisbane!)

  • Awesome. I’ve recently moved to brissy so this is brilliant advice. Thanks heaps. I’m literally opening a new tab on my browser to look this up now :-)

    • They have a Facebook page :) There is also Trevena Glen Farm as well which costs $10 entry and has tractor rides and a jumping castle and for a little extra you can get horse rides and face painting too.

  • I would be interested to know if there are others like this in other states.
Some don’t allow free admission because of the high cost of Public Liability Insurance. If a person hurts themselves they can sue the owner of the property.
That is the biggest reason why entrance fees to a lot of places and sports events have increased so much.
