Hello!

After being made redundant while on maternity leave, I was struggling to find a job.
Years of experience in corporate, vet nursing, retail, meant nothing as I have no formal qualifications.
After taking my daughter to swimming lessons, I realised I wanted to work with children As a swim teacher.
it’s taken . Months of unpaid training to get my austswim certificate and now I finally have a shift next term.
I am also trying to get my babies and toddlers certificate too.
I so excited.
I am 41 and want you all to know it’s never to late to change careers.
Thank you for reading my story

  • Good on you. I’m in childcare and have decided that instead of going back to work in a centre i am going to buy one. It’s going to be a huge commitment but totally worth it i think!

    • That’s a much bigger step than me. good on you. I wish you success
