a short story of my life and my miracle baby Olivas life i was 29 years old i had a healthy 3 year old son and fell pregnant with my second baby i was very sick and had a lot of back pain and pains through the first 3-4 months everything was looking great 1 heart beat very strong all good had my 12 week ultra sound all good couldnt wait for my 18-19 week as i couldnt wait to see what i was having well did it all go down hill from there i found out at my uktrasound that i was carrying identical twin girls and it was a very rare case of ttts trap syndrome id never heard of it before in disbeleif of finding out that id had 2 not one but then being told one baby had died in utro i was gutted and shocked from this time i went on high alert due to this syndrome ttts is where one baby pumps for the other baby through the umbilical cord most ttts babies are born alive one thriving one sick my case no trap is different where olivia my surviving baby was pumping emily my deceased baby and she was feeding her even though she didnt have a heart beat i went into labour at 26 weeks but fortunately it slowed down enough not to give birth i stayed in hospitalhaving 3 scans a week a shortening cervix and not getting out of bed much olivia was struggling due to the syndrome and week to week went by and my deceased baby was growing due to the blood flow feeding from olivia the more my deceased baby grew the more comprimised olivia was becoming there is a procedure they do operate but in my circumstances they couldnt they go in and laser off the cord but my placenta was in ffron of the babies so if they did do the procedure olivia would of died each week i became sicker due to having polyhydomnious extra fluid they wanted to drain but again i refued as there is a chance of loosing my living baby i got very big and very sick but gut instinct i didnt do it and soldiered on at 31 weeks my girls were born premeture olivia living weighing 1700g and emily my deceased 1756g olivia is a true living proof of a miracle the doctors were not even sure if she was going to make through this turbulant pregnancy but yes she did she did struggle for quite some time but now today she is a happy healthy 5 year old girl that started school this year and does eistedford dancing for a little girl that was supposed to have cerebal palsy could of been bling deaf and had learning difficulties surley beat all odds be be the strong and bright girl today my little miracle beat all the odds against her and survived this dreded ttts trap syndrome our memories of my little angel emily live in olivia today my babies were born on my sons 4th birthday so they share a very special day and very sad day as well the photo i have used is olivia a few days just before she came home at 39 weeks and 2kg she was soooooo tiny she looked like a little doll some of her clothes i bought were cabbage patch clothes
