Hello!

Anxiety is quite common these days and it seems that distraction during this time is a good idea. I found this wonderful distraction that works for me so thought I would pass it along!

– Look around you

– Find 5 things you can see
– 4 things you can touch
– 3 things you can hear
– 2 things you can smell
– 1 thing you can taste

This is known as grounding and can help you when you feel like you have lost all control of your surroundings.

Does anyone else have any strategies to share? Would love to hear them!

  • Thanks for sharing your technique! My anxiety has flared right up lately, so I’m looking for any ways to help. I don’t seem to have attacks though, just a constant state. Ugh.

  • One of my sister in law told me many weeks ago that she found out her son is prone to panic attacks when he gets stressed and he’s body starts shaking uncontrollable . The doctor said it is due to a sensitive nerve and he must learn how to handle stress better in which a psychologist can show him proper techniques. Anxiety apparently runs in her family and her daughter is also a intense worrier, just like the mother . So sometimes it is inherited and we have to learn how to cope with it better and accept the fact that anxiety is part of life .
