Hello!

I’m proud to breastfeed my little one. But I do not put it in people’s faces or look down on those who cannot or don’t breastfeed. However, i do get frustrated when I am out, and he is hungry so I discretely feed him. I often have a cardigan on over the top so from most angles, there is very little skin revealed. Yet people still feel uncomfortable and either stare, or don’t look at all.
I understand people have different comfort levels, but this sort of feeding has been going on for years.
Anyone else experienced this??

  • I breastfeed in public and fully expected to have stares or comments but 11 months on and nothing! I guess I’m one of the lucky ones but it’s unfortunate because I’ve wanted to say something to anyone who does comment negatively about it.

  • Yes!! I’m the same as you, I don’t flaunt it, but if bub is hungry when out and about…….you just gotta do it. I too cover as much as possible, I don’t want anyone to see anymore then they gave to….if they even bother to look

  • It’s such a natural thing. I couldn’t breatpstfeed, but if I could, I would give a mouthful to the idiots who look down on breastfeeding mothers. There is nothing wrong with it or doing it in public!

  • When i was breastfeeding and i found people looking at me in disgust, either hubby or i would turn around and say “well when your thirsty or hungry you eat or drink dont you)
Also make people go bright red and wonder off lol

  • Yes I do but I try not to let them get to me it’s not like I am flaunting my boobs out.
I think I find it much worse the girls that walk around with mini belts on.

  • Yep, my little man is 8 months and is easily distracted, so my nipple is often exposed. I find him much easier to feed, even at home, with little distractions (people, tv, noise, animals).

  • I feel your pain and you are not alone. I try to just be discrete and then not look around too much I don’t see people stare. It gets ever harder once the are older and easily distracted and start pulling on and off the breast, then it gets pretty tricky.
