Hello!

I wrote a story a while ago about coding in school – for those of you who are interested, a great website is studio.code.org Its based at teaching children (even pre-readers) the basics of code and introduces things with clear video explanations and a drag and click system (like Scratch). You don’t have to type in the commands, you simply drag and click them.

I hope like it, as it is good entry base for young kids to have access to this new and necessary skill. The sooner kids become familiar with the basic ideas of coding, the less daunting tacking JavaScript, SQL, Python and the like are.

  • Thank you for sharing this. My husband is a developer and keen to teach our little ones coding so I will definitely be telling him about this. He’s been getting our toddler involved with Raspberry Pi projects and they are having a ball.
