Has anyone found their children to be always sick this winter, my two grandchildren, on of my sisters babies has been constantly at the doctors, my other niece her three children have had so much time off school, that the school was ringing her to find out where they were, and she was at the doctors so many times with the youngest one, and another friend said she felt like she was at the doctors and the hospital more than she was at home.
So I just wonder why our children seem to be getting sick all the time, when my children were young they had a few times off sick, and they both got measles, but never took them to the hospital and they were hardly ever at the doctors.
And when my sisters and I we are all in our 50’s never went to the doctors, I had my appendix out at 12 and that was the only time any of us were in hospital, and I hardly remember being at the doctors or home sick at all.
Is it that we are being too “clean” or all the preservatives in foods, or more germs around, or our kids don’t spend as much time outside. Go figure , I really worry about this.

  • I have two boys, one I always have to take to the doctors due to virals, ear infections etc etc while the other is rarely ever sick.
Being “too clean” wouldn’t be the hassle as I suffer from ocd and can’t stand to see a speck of dirt.
My home is spotless, yet it’s only one of my sons who is always sick during the winter.

  • Some kids do get sick more than average in winter. Mine always did. They have grown out of it though, but I do have them on vitamins and olive leaf and fish oil everyday. Seems to help. We were constantly at the doctors when they were little.

  • Exceptionally cold winter this year but thankfully my family haven’t suffered too much. Yes we’ve had coughs ,croup & colds but not as much as the previous winter

  • Sorry to hear of your families sickness, no extra sickness here this winter – hope next winter is kinder to your family.
