Hello!

Well what can I say but boy it’s been a doozy of a day. Temperature reached 47C and seriously it was so hot that you just did not want to be out side in it. My thanks go out to the fire fighters who brave these extreme temperatures to save our homes, lives and livestock also our ambos, doctors and nurses who treat the heat stressed and heat stroked folk…thank you from the bottom of my heart, you are amazing and do amazing things.
Whilst writing this I can hear the neighbouring children laugh and shriek with joy as they splash in their pools …yes it’s been a scorcher of a day but it’s still mighty darn hot even at this late hour and tomorrow will be just like today till hopefully we get that nice cool change the weather casters have forecast. It’s weather like this that I think of all you moms with bubs so I am wishing you all the best little ones …stay cool and safe one and all .

  • I would like to remind all to Please check on older members of your family and neighbors in this hot weather as they do not think to stop doing and have a cold drink, I stopped in on an older friend today when it was 34 degrees and He said said at least now I can stop for a few minutes and then they had cold drink. If I had not stopped in to check on this Man would have kept on working in his yard and not stopped for that vital drink. The same with your pets a lot of people leave their animals in the back yard while out or at work Please make sure of adequate water and shade for your animals.

  • I second your acknowledgment of firefighters and other community workers during the extreme heat and weather conditions. We are so very fortunate to have such dedicated people working for the community. I hope everyone is ok and finds a way to stay cool during this heat and make sure you drink plenty of water/fluids. It is definitely lovely to paddle in the pool and brings some cool and sweet relief.
