Last night after my husband got home, my son and i went to talk to Daddy as he was putting some things away in the room, my son wanted to go down and stand holding the side of the bed as he always does, but last night he gave me a big shock when i turned around for 1 second to move something and he tried to walk over to daddy when i heard a bump for that 1 second that i turned he managed to fall over and hit his head on the corner of the bed, he cried so much i didnt get to see his face for a little because he was holding his head on my chest crying when he came off i noticed a massive bump on the corner of his eyebrow i started to panic thinking he hurt his eye so i checked him and he was ok, before i knew it my husband had ran out the room and to the freezer got ice and put it on my sons eye, i was so impressed how quick he reacted and knew what to do all i was thinking was to hold my baby. thank goodness my baby is ok a hour later he was back to normal laughing and being himself i have kept a eye on him but he seems ok and better today. so nothing to worry about i was instantly thinking of taking him to the doctor but from what i can tell he will be fine. talk about getting scared..

  • These are the times I’m dreading – bumps and bruises are inevitable with children. Good quick thinking on hubbys part. I also would be too busy cuddling baby to get ice (I’d need someone else there to help)

  • it is terrifying when bubs hurt themselves like that,i was always told that when they have had a big bump,it’s always a good sign the bumps come out straight away, don’t know if its true but if they have a big bump and no sign of bump or bruise its more dangerous,i always kept an eye open for concussion afterwards but apparently kids have hard heads!

  • It is so scary when the kids fall and end up with a bump, I have 3 kids so I have seen a lot. Thanks great that he is ok.
