Hello!

Over 4 years ago we moved from melb to nsw. My family were in melb and my partners in nsw. It was nice to get closer to my partners family as he had missed that for over 6years. During our time in melb we had my partners best friend live with us. He was good at the start but then money started to add up, with rent, bills and even food. Some nights I had to say in sorry I can’t feed you when your not paying your way. I shouldn’t have accepted it as due to being my partners best friend, I had let it go even though I was recording what he owed us. Then our neighbour needed a tenant, so my partner suggested his cousin. They lived next door to us for over 3 years and we all became close friends. They had 2 kids at that stage and they watched me have my first born daughter. The kids had became close to each other as well as all the adults!! We decided to move to nsw when my daughter turned 2, it was time for a change. My partners best friend had a falling out with him and got drunk one night and smashed holes in the bedroom walls and tiles in the bathroom. He even put holes in the garage next door where my partners cousin lived. We lost our bond through the real estate and i had to come up with the costs. He did come up to me and apologised and promised he would return the money he owed me. On this note I felt like I still had to be nice in order to get my money otherwise he wouldn’t have bothered! He didn’t repair anything he destroyed.

So we had moved to nsw and in the end my partners cousin did as well! So we were all up there in nsw being close with my partners family again. Although I have found it hard to move away from my family. My partners friend had sent me money in bits and pieces but there was always an excuse as he wasn’t working and had no much work, etc. He had left his tool box at the house in melb and I moved it when we had moved as I did keep some things at my family’s house. He wanted this back and I wanted my money back, hence the end of him paying me money! I’m sure by now you are thinking what does he have to do with the family? Well my partner and I stopped speaking to him for a couple of years. My partners cousin bought him up in nsw for a holiday and that was the start of my partner not speaking to his cousin anymore. 6 mths after that, my partners cousin kicked her partner and father of her 3 kids out who she had been with for over 10years and 2 wks later my partners ex best friend moves in. They apparently were in love and he was know going to be a part of their lives. We were shocked, but just wanted issues to be resolved even though we were happy that they found love in one another. Well they just think that we are not happy for them and don’t understand why we don’t want to see him unless he wants to pay up and sort things out. So the family split starts. She unfriended me and didn’t want us to be part of the kids lives if we weren’t accepting of him. It has been 4 years now, I’ve had my second child up here and not one person besides my partners family came to visit and see the new addition. It tears me apart as I have left my family to be close to my partners and he just puts an end to that. He is still scared of running into my partner so I have been told but is not man enough to resolve any issues. He is working full time with a great job and earning good money, the rest of the family say how well he is going. He could have made an effort but thinks he shouldn’t have to because we stopped talking to him years ago. The whole situation makes me mad. The father of the kids who was kicked out, committed suicide over a month ago. Things have just gotten so out if hand. i had to vent this story as it plays on my mind every day. So please don’t let anyone move in with you unless they are on a lease as who knows where it all may end up! They are apparently getting married in November and still nothing has changed. If they are your best friend that still doesn’t mean anything.
