Hello!

Well after cooking for roughly 26 years I just wanted to tell everyone, last night I made my very own Bread and butter pudding. Not only the first one that I have made, but only the second one that I have tasted. I cook a lot of desserts and yummy ones and so did my mother as well, but never grew up with this one. Well I have to say it is different, But next time I am going to bake a custard in the centre< I think it would give the dish a bit more wow to it.

  • I’ve never tried bread and butter pudding. Doesn’t sound like you enjoyed it much.

    • It was ok, but I would make improvements.

  • You should try putting a big tin of pie apples in it, layer them with the bread, totally delicious.

    • Now that would be delicious, I think that with the custard would make it amazing.

      • I love the idea of putting apple through it too. Wonder if that would convince the rest of the family to love it as much as I do. I just love the inspiration on the site. I will try it with apple and see what they say.

  • Yum, I love bread and butter pudding but sadly the rest of the family doesn’t so I don’t make it very often, because I’d have to eat the whole thing. Not sure what you meant about the custard, but I make the custard and pour it over the prepared bread. Then I bake it in the oven in a water bath so the custard sets nicely. Hope this helps. Enjoy it.

    • Thank you I will try out what you have said. I just saw a recipe and thought that was it. It can only get better Ha ha ha

      • That’s a great idea using the water for moisture so the dish doesn’t dry out. Thanks Mel! :)
