Hello!

I’m a stay at home mum and I love every minute of it! I go back to work in 5 months, so at the moment things are tight. The last two nights my man is so frustrated with not being able to buy his cigarettes rather than be happy that there is food on the table and the kids are happy. He gets home from work and goes straight to the bedroom and doesn’t even say hello to the kids. I have even delivered his tea to him in bed as I don’t want his angry attitude near me and the kids. And yep he ate dinner in bed. I used to smoke but gave it up years ago but I never use to act like this. He gets so angry and yells and I just don’t want to be around him. His friend came over and visited him before and his attitude changed for him as he had cigarettes. So frustrated that he can’t control his emotions and just be happy, its hard to keep a smile on your face with the kids when you are trying to stay away from your cigarette addicted partner/father! Frustrated!

  • I know a guy who gave smoking quite a few years ago. They had just had a new baby and it was too soon for her to contemplate going back to work, which she could only do fro a few hours a week becuase of a disability which only showed up when she was pregnant but is a permanent disease. His wife said he was “difficult” for 3 weeks then he was fine. But he went cold turkey as there wasn’t anything for assistance back then. He had a casual job with a company that closed down over Xmas, New Year so he had no income coming in. He realised food was a necessity, that the smoking had to stop for them to survive

  • Doesn’t sound very good to be around. Hope things have gotten better for you and your family.

  • That’s addictions for you! No matter what your addiction, if you have to go without, you’re grumpy and everyone around you suffers. I hope he doesn’t regress to being violent towards you, his attitude is bad enough without that!
